Really, another slide?

As you can see I own my share of slides, and I do rotate between them. Last week I was talking to Keni Lee Burgess, and he told me about a new bone slide he just received. It was a little pricey..... Then he said "But, it was worth it".... HMMMMM Worth it! kept ringing in my head...... HMMMMM, the next thing I know I'm typing up this post and saying. Sell what you have to and get you one of these. "It's worth it"

Tell Adam - Jim Mitchell and Keni Lee sent you....

Work continues on Suitcase Resonator for Husky Burnette

I have been hard at it on one of my most interesting builds to date. I am building a 6 string suitcase resonator guitar for Husky Burnette. The build features a magnetic pickup designed and built by Bob Harrison. Bob's pickups have been showing up on a lot of builds lately. I am really excited to hear what this thing does. I have also installed one of Ben Getty's rod piezo with a preamp under the biscuit. I am really happy with how this system has worked on a 3 string cigar box resonator that I installed it in earlier this year. The rod piezo is a huge improvement over the conventional piezo. As usual this resonator has provided it's share of construction challenges. The extra tension has been a challenge, I think I have it under control. The goal is to have the build complete for Muddy roots. Since the day job has me on the road this week we will see. Husky is out on tour if you get a chance do yourself a favor and catch one of his shows. I'll post a link to his website soon as well as pictures of the new build. (you can also see them on my facebook page cigar city cigar box guitars)...

Husky Burnette - On tour with a Cigar City CBG Reso

"Since I took this Cigar City resonator cbg home with me it's the main thing I've been picking on so far, above my 3 favorite guitars. Now I have a 4th!! Jim Mitchell's builds are seriously top notch - tone, easy playing, sturdy pieces of work - and the prices are half of what you could get other cbg's of this quality for! Seriously do yourself a favor and order a custom box!"
-Husky Burnette

Husky is clearly one of the hardest working journeyman blues Guitar-slingers working today. He is just back from his "Place to stay" tour and already back out for several dates across the south. I had a chance to meet up with him in Orlando last week and hear him put several of my guitars through their paces. Husky is the real deal! Do yourself a big favor and see one of his shows.
